Some Clash Physical Therapy Methods Include

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization: Manual technique utilizing stainless steel instruments to increase circulation, decrease sensitivity, and improve tissue glide to increase range of motion and tolerance to activity.

Soft Tissue Massage: Manual technique promotes pain relief, edema reduction, and decreased sensitivity of tissues.

Myofascial Release: Manual technique utilizes deep pressure to facilitate a decrease in muscle tone and improvement in tissue glide to improve tolerance for functional movements.

Dry Cupping: Manual technique with various applications that can be used for increasing blood flow, decompression of tissues, increasing sensory awareness, relaxation, and assisting with fluid circulation.

Pain Neuroscience Education: Focused discussion regarding how and why pain is produced, how it differs based on timeline and nature of the injury, and how personal factors affect presentation. Your Clash Physical Therapy & Health Services physical therapist will provide strategies to address each individual’s specific needs.

Taping: A method used to assist with decompression of tissues and improve communication between affected area and brain to decrease pain and improve movement patterns

Functional Movement Patterning: Coaching individuals in movement variations important for day-to-day function. This approach rewires your brain to increase functional capacity, move without pain, and reduce risk for further injury. This treatment may be used in conjunction with taping and cupping.

Exercise Prescription: Initially focused on restoring range of motion and strength to decrease pain and improve function, progressing to performance-enhancing activities.

Dry Needling: Also referred to as myofascial trigger point dry needling, is an alternative medicine technique which is very similar to acupuncture. It is used to help treat myofascial pain. It can help change the way the brain and muscles talk to each other to let the system return to a more normal movement pattern.

Softwave Therapy: Softwave Therapy is a machine that uses acoustic waves to penetrate tissue which triggers a strong healing effect in the body.

MAIN EFFECTS OF SOFTWAVE THERAPY:

  • Pain reduction
  • Induces stem cells recruitment/migration to treated area
  • Angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation)
  • Reduces apoptosis (programmed cell death)
  • Suppresses acute inflammation & modulates the inflammatory response
  • Improves wound healing
  •  Induces neuronal regeneration (regeneration of peripheral nerves after injury)
